We met while touring Europe in 1997. Since then, Pat and Phil came to America twice to visit us, first in 2002 and then again in 2010. In between, the four of us have toured the south of England together in 2008. Then in 2012 we flew to Adelaide and toured southeastern Australia and New Zealand with them. Now once again we come together, this time in Edinburgh, to do Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

The Grandchildren

Today we met the whole family. Here are all the grandchildren: from left to right, Hannah (2), William (4), Harry (11), Sophie (3) and Charlie (8 months). Andrew, Pat and Phil's oldest, and Kylie arrived first and we reminisced about Andrew's two years working for the Australian Consul in New York. Chris and Fiona arrived soon after with Harry, Sophie and Charlie. Tim's wife Kylie came William and Hannah but without Tim who was still at work. Then good friends of Pat and Phil, Crispy and Bev came. Crispy and Phil were fellow primary school principals at one time. Tim, the youngest son, arrived last, while Fiona had to leave for work. We enjoyed getting acquainted and home made pizza, compliments of Phil the Chef, in their garden gazebo.
